"Every now and then one is given the opportunity to join a group of people who are incredibly passionate about what they do! The cyclists participating in the 'Red Sky Ride' are just that - passionate about making a difference to those in our community touched by cancer and it's now my privilege to be a part of that team.
For my part I have the most pleasant task of riding a police motorcycle escorting our team as they prepare for and during the big ride in March 2009. However, the same cannot be said for the riders who endure hours on the saddle, 'up hill and down dale' as they pedal their way towards raising much needed funds for Solaris Care.
Having witnessed first hand the gruelling training our team engage in and the enthusiasm with which they go about the task, I have no doubt we will make a difference to the lives of people directly or indirectly affected by cancer.
