CONGRATULATIONS!To the nineteen sensational riders who rode into Forrest Chase at on Sunday, hot tired, thirsty and having completed an ultra endurance event, to raise funds to support people with Cancer
$280,000 have been raised this year to date and if we can reach $300,000 it will make a total 0f $750,000 in there years, a fantastic effort by any stretch of the imagination, and a huge result for the wonderful red sky ride team.
The night before the final days ride was a lovely dinner at Settlers Inne in
York, with guests form the Scottish Masonic Foundation there to proudly present their jersey to the winner of the mountain high jersey. The riders and volunteers were all in top form, relaxed with the ride coming to an end, relieved that the hills and heat were behind them and in some cases recovering form the fall earlier in the day. A fast, comfortable and happy peleton rode through the day relaxed on the bikes and supporting the few carrying injuries. The welcome into Forrest Chase by family and friends was wonderful, and a lovely picnic with families was held at QueensPark gardens under the trees to relax and celebrate finishing in style.With the thank you function for sponsors remaining, everyone will now take stock of a sensational ride, enjoy the camaraderie, the memories and the fantastic outcome and after a few quiet ales yesterday, were already signing up for the Red Sky Ride 2011.Thank you to all who blogged and supported our riders and volunteers, we look forward to your continued support as we all continue in our quest to help people with cancer.The red sky ride team
